It’s been so long since I’ve gotten out and done an engagement session. I truly love these sessions! I think they’re so important in my relationship with the bride and groom. It’s so important to be comfortable around the person who’s going to be with you your entire wedding day! Not only that, but it’s a great way to get more comfortable in front of the camera. I always tell my couples, “by the time we finish today, on your wedding day, the bride always knows what to do with her hands and the groom always knows where to put his nose”.
I know I rant and rave about this location, but I seriously can’t get enough of Oakes Quarry. Especially since Pearl’s Fen just opened up! Pearl’s Fen is a wetland park attached to Oakes Quarry and let me tell you, it’s beautiful! It’s such a different dynamic to Oakes. I feel like Oakes Quarry has such a desert feel, and it’s very rocky, with cliffs, and tons of tall, neutral grasses.
Pearl’s Fen, however, is the complete opposite. It’s filled with tons of tall wildflowers, greens, trees, and every corner is different. It’s definitely smaller than Oakes Quarry, which makes it the perfect ending to the session.
Colleen and Kyle, let me just say, these two KILLED it. They followed the style guide SO WELL! They looked amazing! I always love it when my couples bring one outfit that’s dressy, and another that’s more them. It really brings a personal touch to their photos while doing something a little different.
These two have the sweetest girl named Ghost. She’s so freakin’ adorable! Peep her in a few photos.
I loved getting to know these two and their furbaby! I’m so excited for their wedding next year! Can you believe I’m starting on 2021 engagement sessions already?!
